Surfers Against Sewage are hosting a national day of action on Saturday 18th May 2024.Wax those boards, paint those placards, get your swim suits on.
Extra monitoring by the Environment Agency in the River Lim throughout 2023 has shown high levels of human sewage even after light rain near the river mouth.
“I am delighted that Lyme Regis is ever-turning green. Initiatives that have been put in place are vitally important and will continue to set an example to many other communities. Church Beach in Lyme Regis has been redesignated as a bathing beach after a two year campaign. Local water quality campaigners, swimmers and many local businesses have been celebrating after receiving the news.
